The new Cebu service will be operated using an Airbus A320 and will initially fly three times a week. Vietjet is also launching three weekly flights between Clark and Ho Chi Minh City on the same date.
Kat Bucsit, head of sales of APG Philippines, Vietjet’s general sales agent in the Philippines, said the airline hopes to increase the Cebu frequency with the support of local travel agencies.
“For Cebu, we'll be launching not only one, but two flights. Cebu, for now we will be flying three times a week,” Bucsit said during a presentation for Cebu travel agency partners on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026.

Vietjet began its Philippine operations with Manila-Ho Chi Minh flights, initially operating three times a week before increasing the service to daily after a month.
The Cebu launch will give travelers another gateway to Vietnam, while also providing connections through Ho Chi Minh City to destinations across Vietjet’s network, including Australia, Northeast Asia, Central Asia and other parts of Southeast Asia.
Among the possible onward connections from Cebu are Sydney and Melbourne.
Travelers can also connect to popular Vietnamese destinations such as Danang and Hanoi.
Bucsit noted that Danang, in particular, remains a popular destination among Cebu travelers.
Vietjet currently operates across 18 countries and territories and is connected to 99 international airports. The airline operates around 420 domestic and international flights daily.
The carrier has a fleet of 135 aircraft across its group, including 108 Vietjet aircraft, 22 for Vietjet Thailand and five for Vietjet Kazakhstan.
It operates Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft on domestic and regional routes, while its A330 wide-body aircraft serve longer international routes. Vietjet has firm orders for 400 additional aircraft.
Travel agency support
APG Philippines is working with Cebu travel agencies ahead of the new service, with incentives available for group bookings and agency sales.
For group bookings of 10 or more passengers on the Cebu-Ho Chi Minh City and Cebu-Hanoi services, travel agencies can receive a 20-kilogram baggage allowance for the entire journey under a promotional program running until November 30, 2026.
Vietjet also offers several fare options, including Eco, Deluxe and SkyBoss, with varying baggage, seat selection and service inclusions.
Bucsit urged travel agencies to use Vietjet’s agency portal for bookings, ticket issuance and managing reservations.
“We hope we get support from you,” Bucsit told Cebu’s travel agency community.
With the new service, Cebu travelers will have another direct link to Ho Chi Minh City and a convenient connection to Vietjet’s growing international network.
