CEBU CITY -- Cebu is taking another step toward a more electric future with the launch of a new EV charging station at Oakridge Business Park, giving electric vehicle owners another convenient location to recharge while going about their daily activities.

The facility stands out for its digital screens, making it the first EV charging station equipped with this feature to be launched in the Visayas.

The project brings together Oakridge Business Park, A+ Power Services Inc., a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power, and Charge Europa in an effort to expand sustainable mobility infrastructure in the region.

The charging station was formally activated during the “Charging Forward” launch program at Oakridge Business Park, led by Oakridge Realty Development Corporation President Anne K. Liu and A+ Power Services President Jokin Aboitiz.

“We are especially honored that Oakridge Business Park was chosen as the site of A+ Power’s first EV charging installation in the Visayas — an important milestone for both our organizations,” Liu said.

The business park provides a strategic setting for the facility, allowing customers, employees, and visitors to access EV charging while using the commercial complex.

Aboitiz said the partnership reflects the shared vision of both companies to develop infrastructure that is practical and responsive to changing mobility needs.

“Oakridge has been the perfect partner for this milestone. They share our vision for practical, forward-looking infrastructure, and their strategic location and welcoming environment made this launch possible,” Aboitiz said.

A+ Power Services Project Lead Noel Modesto said the partnership combines Oakridge’s location and parking facilities with A+ Power Services’ resources and technical capabilities.

“Oakridge Business Park provides the strategic location, accessible parking, and welcoming environment that make EV charging convenient for customers, employees, and visitors. A+ Power Services brings the investment, technology, installation, operations, and ongoing maintenance needed to deliver a reliable charging experience,” Modesto said.

The companies said the project is part of their broader effort to make electric mobility more accessible while converting existing commercial spaces into infrastructure that can support future transportation needs.

For Cebu, the new charging facility adds another piece to the city’s developing EV ecosystem and reflects the growing role of private businesses in supporting cleaner and more sustainable transportation.

With more electric vehicles expected to enter Philippine roads, initiatives such as the Oakridge charging station could help address one of the key requirements for wider EV adoption: having convenient places to recharge. | PR
